If you’re a mom, there’s a pretty good chance you’re already influencing someone. A friend texts you asking where you got your lunch containers. You might share a quick tip about a product you actually recommend. You can mention ShopMy referral link when you pass along recommendations.
Another mom wants the link to the dress you wore.
Someone asks which protein powder, organizer, kids’ water bottle, skincare product, teacher gift or Amazon find you actually recommend. We share things with each other all the time.
And that’s one reason ShopMy is a useful platform for moms, especially when you share products you genuinely use.
You do not need to become a full-time influencer.
Additionally, ShopMy referral link helps you organize recommendations and create affiliate links.
You can earn income when someone purchases based on your recommendation.
What Is ShopMy?
ShopMy is a creator platform that allows you to create your own digital storefront filled with products you recommend. Think of it like having one organized home for all of your favorite things:
- Home organization
- Beauty and skincare
- Wellness
- Kids’ products
- Fashion
- Kitchen favorites
- Gifts
- Travel essentials
- Everyday mom-life finds
Instead of constantly searching your order history every time someone texts, “Can you send me the link?”, you can send them directly to your ShopMy page or collection. ShopMy works with thousands of brands and retailers, allowing approved creators to generate affiliate links for products they recommend. When someone makes an eligible purchase through your affiliate link, you can earn a commission.
Why I Think ShopMy Makes Sense for Moms
1. You’re Probably Already Doing the Work
This is probably my biggest reason. Moms are constantly recommending things to one another. We talk about:
“What do you use for your skin?”
“Which lunchbox actually works?”
“Where did you get that organizer?”
“What shoes does your daughter wear?”
“What are you bringing your teacher for Christmas?”
“What should I pack for baseball season?”
If you’re already taking time to find the link, you can earn from a recommendation you were going to make.
Moreover, ShopMy referral link helps you monetize what you share.
It’s not about recommending more things.
It’s about being intentional with what you already share.
2. You Can Create a Little Digital Shop of Everything You Love
One of my favorite things about ShopMy is the ability to organize recommendations into collections.
Instead of one giant list of random links, you can create collections such as:
- My Everyday Kitchen Favorites
- Busy Mom Wellness
- What’s In My Baseball Bag
- Things That Make School Mornings Easier
- My Favorite Trader Joe’s-Inspired Hosting Finds
- Gifts I Actually Give
- My Everyday Beauty Routine
- Amazon Home Organization Favorites
- Traveling With Kids
- Christmas Gifts for Teachers
This is particularly helpful if you create content on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, a blog or even just share recommendations with friends and family. You’re essentially creating your own searchable resource library.
3. You Can Earn Affiliate Commission
ShopMy automatically turns eligible products you add into affiliate links. ShopMy currently says many commission rates typically range from approximately 10–30%, although the exact rate depends on the individual retailer or brand and can change. That means if someone shops through your eligible affiliate link and completes a qualifying purchase, you may receive a percentage of that sale. And those small purchases can eventually add up.
4. You Don’t Need a Huge Following to Start Sharing Valuable Recommendations
This is an important mindset shift. Influence isn’t only follower count. If 30 people regularly trust your recommendations, that’s influence. If other baseball moms ask what gear you use, that’s influence. If your girlfriends constantly ask about your skincare, that’s influence. If other moms save your organization ideas, that’s influence. Trust matters far more than throwing hundreds of random product links onto the internet. Start with the products you would recommend even if you weren’t earning a penny. That’s usually where the best affiliate content begins.
5. ShopMy Can Create Opportunities Beyond Affiliate Links
Affiliate commissions aren’t the only opportunity available through ShopMy. ShopMy also works directly with brand partners and currently offers creators opportunities that may include:
- Increased commission rates
- Gifted products
- Commission-able discount codes
- Brand collaborations
- Paid partnerships
- Affiliate bonuses and other brand opportunities
Availability will vary based on your account, audience, content and the brands themselves, so I wouldn’t join expecting free products or brand deals overnight. Think of those opportunities as a potential bonus. The first goal should be building a thoughtful shop filled with recommendations people can genuinely trust.
How Do You Actually Use ShopMy?
Once you’re approved, keep it simple.
Step 1: Build Your Profile
Add your photo, bio and relevant social accounts. Make it immediately clear what kinds of things you share. You don’t have to cover everything. A clear point of view makes your recommendations much more useful.
Step 2: Create a Few Collections
Don’t try to build 25 collections your first day. Start with three to five. Then build from there.
Step 3: Add Products You Already Own and Love
This is where I’d start before adding trendy products.
“What do I use constantly that I would confidently recommend to another mom?”
Add those products first. Those recommendations will be much easier to talk about naturally because they’re already part of your life.
Step 4: Create Your Affiliate Link
ShopMy currently gives creators several ways to create commissionable links. You can search its product catalog, paste a product URL from a retailer, or use its linking tools. ShopMy then adds affiliate tracking to eligible links. You can share those links wherever it makes sense.
Step 5: Share Naturally
This part matters. You do not have to suddenly turn every Instagram Story into a BUYING share! Please don’t. 😂 Instead, integrate links into content you’re already creating.
For example:
- “Three things making our school mornings easier.”
- “Everything I keep in my baseball-mom bag.”
- “My 15-minute kitchen reset.”
- “What I actually use for my morning skincare.”
- “Five things I would immediately buy again.”
Then give people an easy way to find the products.
What If You Don’t Create Content?
You can still build a ShopMy account around genuine recommendations, although ShopMy does have an application process for creators. You might be surprised how much influence you already have within your own community. And if you’re interested in eventually creating content, UGC, blogging, Pinterest, Instagram or TikTok, starting an organized affiliate storefront early can give you somewhere to send people from the beginning. You don’t have to wait until you have 10,000 followers. Start building the infrastructure while you’re building the audience.
Remember to Disclose Affiliate Links
If you earn commission from purchases made through your links, be transparent about it.
You’ll often see language such as: “This post contains affiliate links, which means I may earn a small commission if you purchase through my links, at no additional cost to you.”
Transparency builds trust and protecting that trust is much more important than making a quick commission.
So…Should You Join ShopMy?
If you love discovering useful products, already find yourself sharing recommendations, or want to begin monetizing content you’re creating, I think it’s absolutely worth exploring. Especially for moms, because we’re already professional recommenders, moms are all about WORD OF MOUTH. 😉 The goal isn’t to become the person constantly telling everyone to buy more stuff.
