1. Evaluate.
Write and/or rate: What is going well? What is not? What have you learned in the current year?
2. Clarify and refine.
What are some things you would like to change?
Choose 1-4 areas you would like to work on in the new year.
What is your WHY? Your motivation?
Select goals that really are a priority to YOU!
What it would take to work on these areas (time, energy, other resources).
What are some barriers or roadblocks that can prevent you from achieving?
3. Create a Plan.
Write these goals down – BE SPECIFIC.
Your plan should be broken down into small, attainable goals that mover you closer to your big picture goals.
4. Take Action.
Tracking your progress and review it Monthly.
The way I like to set up my goals:
Write down the big picture goals for the YEAR.
Write down smaller goals with action steps that I need to take in order to achieve my MONTHLY goal.
Write down daily activities that I want to achieve (I use a habit tracker).
NOTE: I limit the number of daily, weekly, monthly mini goals to (1-4) so that they are attainable and sustainable. If you don’t hit your daily or monthly goals – its okay, life happens. Each day is a new opportunity to get after your goals. Learning to be flexible is KEY!
