Use a planner to review the month and week ahead.
- I am currently using this planner. I love it because it combines goal setting and daily, monthly, annual calendar. Note: this is NOT a sponsored post, just my opinion 🙂
- If you are looking for a great resource to better manage your time, energy and overall mindset. I highly recommend this book. It has taught me a lot about how I spend my time, and my daily output of energy. As a women in my 40’s with three young kids, there’s not a lot of energy to go around!?! HA, HA!!
- When I review my calendar:
- I take what I have built into our google calendar and write it down in my planner. Highlighting each person’s schedule in a different color.
- I review my week and month’s goals

Meal Plan
- After reviewing the week, I can see when I will be home to make specific meals (considering how much prep work), and also extracurricular activities for each family member.
- I keep a running list of “go-to” meals in my Evernote App which I rotate (probably every 2 weeks) and add items I need to my Anylist App.
- Check the fridge and pantry for what I have on hand, and take note of items we need to replenish.
- Place pick up orders at Target. I prefer to go into the grocery store for fresh items like produce, seafood and meats. My favorite local stores are: Trader Joes, Costco and Sprouts.
-
Clean the car, and stock it with frequently used items by family members.
- Cleaning my car might mean taking it to get washed and vacuumed if it is really dirty. But on an typical weekend (Sundays) I will take my handheld vacuum, and do a 15 minute quick clean up. I wipe down the seats and arm rests with cleaning wipes. I restock the car with essentials for my youngest: baby wipes, a pair of extra shoes and change of clothes. Make sure that hand sanitizing wipes, Kleenex, paper towel roll, utensils, water bottles and snacks are stocked. I always keep a first aid kit, medication, a portable phone charger, jumper cables, and feminine products in my car as well.
