Are you looking for winter outfits but don’t know where to start? Well, look no further. Checkout my 2022/23 Winter Capsule wardrobe, a simple breakdown of affordable, yet stylish everyday pieces that will last you this season and beyond.
What is a Capsule Wardrobe?
It is a simple curated collection of clothing and accessories intended to be interchangeable. The beauty of a neutral capsule is the number of outfits that can be created.
What are the benefits of having a Capsule Wardrobe?
- Save money and less waste. I have a tendency to buy higher quality items which last longer, which in turn saves money.
- Save time. Everything pretty much matches (especially if you have a neutral or monochromatic capsule), so it is time saving and less hassle to get out the door and get your day started.
- More space. This method really is more minimalist. You don’t need a lot of clothes to create a beautiful wardrobe. You just need a collection of key pieces mixed in with some everyday basics.
What are the essentials for a Winter Capsule?
The following steps will help you build your winter capsule:
- Carry over items from Fall. These would include items such as: t-shirts, long sleeve tops, light weight sweaters, hoodies, jeans, jackets, and boots) TIP: Purchasing neutral color palette allows for much more variety of outfits and stretches out your spending.
- Create a list of items you will need in the Winter. Utilize the above image to help you create a list of items you may already own or would like to add.
- TIP 1: I purchase items on sale in December and January, and save for future season. Examples are puffer jackets, coats, vests, boots.
- TIP 2: My overall style is basic/classic with a few trendy pieces for each season. This really allows me to build a longer lasting wardrobe.
